The ship's hull is ornamented with a cross below the second lis, with decorative arrangement of ornaments in a 1-11-11-1 configuration, three ropes over one, quatrefoils in a 3/3 arrangement, and lis disposed 1-2-1. A bowsprit projects from the bow of the vessel, and the rigging and hull details are rendered with characteristic late medieval hammered precision. The peripheral legend in Latin runs around the coin, interrupted by a retrograde Lombardic 7 and the initial letter A. |

The entire composition is contained within a decorative polylobe border with trefoils in the spandrels. Double saltire stops punctuate the surrounding Latin legend. |
