| 背面描述 | The reverse presents an aerial cartographic view of the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret), surrounded by four archaeological motifs from the region: a coin of the ancient city of Tiberias (2nd century C.E.); a portion of the zodiac mosaic from the synagogue at Hamat Tiberias (3rd–4th century C.E.); a stone relief from the synagogue at Capernaum (3rd–4th century C.E.); and a fragment of a decorative mosaic from Kursi. The inscription 'הכנרת' (Kinneret) appears in Hebrew and 'Sea of Galilee' in English, flanking the central design in the lower field. |

Part of a long-running Bank of Israel commemorative series celebrating the country's natural and archaeological heritage, this issue was struck specifically to draw international collector attention during a period when Israel was aggressively expanding its numismatic export program in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Sea of Galilee — Lake Kinneret in Hebrew — holds significance both as Israel's primary freshwater reservoir and as a site of continuous settlement dating to the Bronze Age.
KM#210 was produced in proof finish at the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation facility in Jerusalem.
