Additional information

Part of a long-running Bank of Israel commemorative series celebrating the country's natural and archaeological heritage, this issue was struck specifically to draw international collector attention during a period when Israel was aggressively expanding its numismatic export program in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Sea of Galilee — Lake Kinneret in Hebrew — holds significance both as Israel's primary freshwater reservoir and as a site of continuous settlement dating to the Bronze Age.

KM#210 was produced in proof finish at the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation facility in Jerusalem.
