| Obverse description | Cast bronze cash coin bearing four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform reading order around a central square perforation. The upper and lower characters read 常平 (Sangpyeong), identifying the Sangpyeong Tongbo series issued under the Joseon Dynasty's Office for Price Stabilization. The right and left characters read 通寶 (Tongbo), the standard designation for circulating currency. All inscriptions are rendered in regular script (kaishu) with clear, well-defined strokes typical of Joseon-period cast coinage. |
