Reverse description The reverse is arranged around the central square perforation with four Chinese characters in cruciform order. The mint mark 開 (Kae), denoting the Kaesong Township Military Office (開城管理營), appears at the upper position. The character 天 (Cheon, meaning 'heaven'), indicating the first positional tier of the series denomination system, appears at the lower position. Serial series numbers appear to the left and right of the perforation, identifying the specific issue within the Kaesong mint's production run. All characters are cast in traditional regular script consistent with Joseon Dynasty cash coin conventions.
