Beschrijving voorzijde Cast copper cash coin featuring the four-character inscription 常平通寶 (Sangpyeong Tongbo) arranged in cruciform fashion around the central square hole, reading top-bottom-right-left in standard numismatic convention. The characters 常 (Sang) and 平 (Pyeong) appear at the top and bottom respectively, while 通 (Tong) and 寶 (Bo) appear at right and left, referencing the Sangpyeong Bureau responsible for currency issuance under the Joseon Dynasty. The inscription is rendered in regular script (kaishu) with clean, well-defined strokes typical of Joseon-era cast coinage. The field surrounding the square perforation is flat and unadorned.

Beschrijving keerzijde Cast reverse features a four-character arrangement around the central square hole, identifying the issuing bureau and series denomination. The character 戸 (Ho), denoting the Treasury Department (户曹, Hojo), appears at the top; 文 (Mun), indicating the cash denomination, is positioned at the bottom; a circular symbol (○) occupies the left field; and the series number 七 (7, Chil) appears at the right. This reverse convention is standard for Joseon Sangpyeong Tongbo coinage, where mint and series identifiers distinguish individual emission batches. The characters are cast in regular script with flat, undecorated fields.
