Reverse description Plain reverse field surrounding the central square perforation, bearing a single small Chinese character 小 (Ko) positioned above the square hole, serving as a mint mark identifying the Koume-mura casting facility. The field is otherwise unadorned, with a raised outer rim and the characteristic wide square-hole rim (広穿) typical of this iron issue. The casting surface shows the rough, porous texture inherent to iron alloy production of the Edo period.
