| Obverse description | Multi-line Persian legend in elegant Nasta'liq script covering the entire field, divided horizontally by a raised linear bar separating the inscription into two registers. The legend reads the royal titulature of Shahrokh Shah, invoking his claim as Sahib-Qiran and sovereign of Khurasan, with a partial regnal date appearing in the lower portion of the field. The script is boldly struck in high relief against a plain, slightly convex field, characteristic of Afsharid hammered gold coinage. |
