| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a broad, plain or lightly textured central field surrounded by a decorative border composed of a repeating geometric or triangular pattern, forming a distinctive ornamental ring around the circumference. Within the central field, a small cluster of dots or a simple floral device is visible, typical of the minimalist reverse designs employed on Karauli princely gold mohurs. The border design, consisting of alternating raised triangular elements, is characteristic of the milled coinage produced at the Karauli State Mint during the reign of Bhanwar Pal under British suzerainty. No inscriptions or legends appear on the reverse. |

Karauli was among the smaller Rajput princely states in what is now Rajasthan, and its gold mohur issues under Victoria are exceptional survivals — the state's output was minimal, and gold denominations were struck in tiny quantities, largely for ceremonial presentation rather than active commerce. The KM#X2 designation itself signals a coin that sits outside the main numbering sequence, reflecting genuine uncertainty among catalogers about its precise issue context.
Bhanwar Pal ruled Karauli from 1875 until his death in 1886, making this a final-year issue of his reign.
