| Beschrijving voorzijde | Struck in the Mughal tradition, the obverse bears a bold Persian-script legend in Nastaliq calligraphy arranged in three registers across the coin's field, reading 'sikka mubarak padshah ghazi Alamgir' ('auspicious coin of the warrior king Alamgir'). The inscription is framed by a plain inner border, with decorative pellet ornaments and small floral or dot embellishments visible in the margins and between the lines of text. The overall design is characteristic of late Mughal hammered gold coinage, with no figural imagery, the entire surface devoted to the calligraphic legend. The raised lettering displays the fluid, sweeping strokes of Nastaliq script typical of Mughal imperial mohurs. The flan is slightly irregular in outline, consistent with hand-struck production. |
