MIAMA — an acronym for Mitteldeutsche Ausstellung für Siedelung, Sozialfürsorge und Arbeit — was a regional exhibition held in Magdeburg in 1922 focused on housing reform, social welfare, and labor organization, themes with real urgency in a Germany still absorbing the social wreckage of the war. The city issued this note as Serienscheine, collector-targeted Notgeld that was designed to be bought and kept rather than spent — a minor revenue stream dressed as emergency currency.
Brückner was a local Magdeburg printer with no particular prestige in the Notgeld trade, which shows.
