Reverse description Central shield of arms bearing three passant lions of Denmark arranged in pale, surmounted by a royal crown, all within a beaded inner circle. The shield is rendered in the late Gothic hammered tradition with bold, deeply struck relief. The date 1529 appears in the legend field to the left of the shield. The circumscribed Latin legend MONETA NOVA KOPHAGENSIS, denoting the new coinage of Copenhagen, runs around the outer field between the beaded borders, with a small mark separating the legend elements.
