| Obverse description | Black letterpress on buff paper with a scalloped border frame running the full perimeter. A central oval cartouche with a lined guilloche underprint carries the large numeral '1' above the word 'Mark' in Gothic script. The heading 'Notgeld von Altheide' arcs across the top in bold Fraktur lettering, while 'Gültig bis zum Abruf' (valid until recalled) is set in two lines flanking the cartouche. At the lower portion, the legend 'Der Gemeinde-Vorstand' appears above two manuscript signatures of the municipal board members. |
