Denomination roundels reading '1 Mark' in red and black appear at left and right, each set within a beaded guilloche border, flanked by geometric lattice underprint panels. The header carries the issuer inscription 'Bad Neuenahr' in Gothic script with '* A.-G. *' at left and 'Bank-Abt.' at right; the lower portion bears a payment obligation text in German Gothic script, dated 'Neuenahr, 1.
