Denomination roundels reading '1 Mark' in red and black appear at left and right, each set within a beaded guilloche border, flanked by geometric lattice underprint panels. The header carries the issuer inscription 'Bad Neuenahr' in Gothic script with '* A.-G. *' at left and 'Bank-Abt.' at right; the lower portion bears a payment obligation text in German Gothic script, dated 'Neuenahr, 1. The denomination numeral '1' appears in large format within decorative shield cartouches at left and right, each with ornate scrollwork, and 'Mark' is inscribed above each cartouche in Gothic lettering. The lower panel contains a four-line verse in German Gothic script commemorating Beethoven's connection to the house, set against a yellow guilloche underprint.
