Obverse description Printed in red and black on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a central heraldic vignette of the coat of arms of the County of Neuenahr — a spread eagle on a dotted shield with a cross — enclosed within a decorative frame and captioned 'Wappen der Grafschaft Neuenahr' on a ribbon below. Denomination roundels reading '1 Mark' in red and black appear at left and right, each set within a beaded guilloche border, flanked by geometric lattice underprint panels. The header carries the issuer inscription 'Bad Neuenahr' in Gothic script with '* A.-G. *' at left and 'Bank-Abt.' at right; the lower portion bears a payment obligation text in German Gothic script, dated 'Neuenahr, 1. März 1922', with validity note 'Gültigkeitum 31. Dezember 1922', series designation 'Reihe 2 · Scheck 4', and the engraver credit 'A. Altester fec.'

Reverse description Printed in ochre-yellow, blue-grey, and black on cream paper, the reverse carries a central landscape vignette of the Haus von Breuning in Bad Neuenahr — noted as a residence of Beethoven — rendered as a detailed line-drawn architectural scene with surrounding trees and a hillside in the background. The denomination numeral '1' appears in large format within decorative shield cartouches at left and right, each with ornate scrollwork, and 'Mark' is inscribed above each cartouche in Gothic lettering. The lower panel contains a four-line verse in German Gothic script commemorating Beethoven's connection to the house, set against a yellow guilloche underprint. The header repeats '* A.-G. * Bad Neuenahr Bank-Abt.' in matching Gothic script, and series and check numbers 'Reihe 2' and 'Scheck 4' appear below the vignette flanking margins.
Reverse lettering * A.-G. * Bad Neuenahr Bank-Abt.
