正面描述 The central vignette presents a large, gnarled oak tree rendered in an expressive woodcut-like style, its spreading canopy occupying the full width of the note against a pale underprint. To the left of the trunk, the denomination is stated in Gothic blackletter script as 'Eine Mark', while to the right appear the issuing authority 'Gemeinde Trittau' and the title 'Gemeindevorsteher' accompanied by a manuscript facsimile signature. A patriotic motto in Gothic script runs along the upper border, and a validity clause is printed along the lower margin.

备注

Trittau is a small town in Holstein, east of Hamburg, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1921–1923 it issued its own emergency paper when central currency became practically useless for small transactions during the inflation spiral. These Gemeinde-issued Notgeld pieces were often printed locally in short runs, which accounts for the variety of types and subtypes cataloged under a single reference — the .2 and .3 suffixes in DeNG 1347 likely reflect different print batches or minor typographic variants rather than intentional redesigns.

Municipal Notgeld of this period was rarely redeemed in full. As hyperinflation made even 1 Mark denominations worthless within weeks, many notes were simply discarded or kept as curiosities.
