Beschrijving keerzijde The central vignette presents a detailed woodcut-style architectural view of a historic Paderborn town house (Haus Levermann), its multi-storey stepped-gable facade rendered with fine line work and framed by foliage. Bold numeral "1" cartouches with decorative Art Nouveau scroll ornaments flank the central image on both sides, and the denomination "EINE MARK" is printed in large block capitals across the top. The artist's signatures "P. Michels" and "L.EVERMANN" appear at lower left and lower right respectively.

Opmerkingen

Paderborn's Stadtsparkasse entered the notgeld market in 1921 as the postwar inflation made Reichsmark coinage effectively disappear from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply insufficient in volume. Gebrüder Parcus in Munich were among the more prolific emergency currency printers of the period, handling municipal and savings-bank contracts across Bavaria and beyond.

The DeNG reference places this within the fourth and fifth subtype variants of the 1043.6 series, suggesting the Stadtsparkasse issued multiple runs — not unusual for municipalities that consistently underestimated demand as inflation accelerated through 1921 into 1922.
