备注

Renicci, near Anghiari in Tuscany, was one of Italy's larger internment installations — at its peak in 1942–43 it held several thousand Yugoslav and Balkan detainees, many of them political prisoners rather than conventional combatants. Camp scrip of this kind was a deliberate instrument of economic containment: it could not leave the wire, which meant it had no value in the event of escape and no hard-currency drain on the Italian military economy.

After the September 1943 armistice, the camp was effectively abandoned. Most scrip was discarded or destroyed in the chaos that followed, which accounts for the genuine scarcity of surviving Renicci issues across all denominations.
