Obverse description	The left portion carries a portrait vignette of King Sobhuza II facing three-quarters right, set against a guilloché underprint in red-brown and green tones. At centre, the numeral '1' is rendered within an ornate oval guilloché rosette, flanked by the denomination inscriptions 'LINYE' and 'LILANGENI' in two-colour letterpress. The lower right area presents a vignette of the Royal Swazi National Storage Corporation building with an elephant at its base, with two facsimile signatures for the Minister for Finance and the Governor respectively.

Reverse description	The central vignette occupies the full width of the note and presents a procession of Swazi maidens in traditional ceremonial dress and adornments, rendered in fine intaglio line work against a multicolour guilloché underprint. The issuer name 'MONETARY AUTHORITY OF SWAZILAND' appears in bold letterpress across the upper portion, with the numeral '1' at upper left and lower left corners. The denomination 'ONE LILANGENI' is inscribed in the lower left, framed by decorative border elements in red-brown and green.
