The overall style is characteristic of late-Renaissance hammered billon coinage of the Spanish Netherlands. |

| Opis rewersu | Central device consists of the halved arms of Austria-Burgundy — combining the horizontally barred Austrian fess with the Burgundian quarterly — displayed on a shield surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. The date is divided by the shield, with digits appearing to the left and right of the escutcheon in the field. The circumferential legend ARCHID · AVST · DVC · BVRG · BRA · Z, abbreviated from Archidux Austriae, Dux Burgundiae, Brabantiae et Zeelandiae, encircles the design within a beaded border. The reverse composition reflects the dynastic claims of the joint sovereigns over the Spanish Netherlands territories. |
