A mintmark appears at the top of the inner circle, above the uppermost arm of the cross. The surrounding legend, separated from the central device by the inner circle, reads ALBERTVS · ET · ELISABET · D · GRA, identifying the joint rulers Archduke Albert and Infanta Isabella. The overall style is characteristic of late-Renaissance hammered billon coinage of the Spanish Netherlands. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central device consists of the halved arms of Austria-Burgundy — combining the horizontally barred Austrian fess with the Burgundian quarterly — displayed on a shield surmounted by an elaborate royal crown. The date is divided by the shield, with digits appearing to the left and right of the escutcheon in the field. The circumferential legend ARCHID · AVST · DVC · BVRG · BRA · Z, abbreviated from Archidux Austriae, Dux Burgundiae, Brabantiae et Zeelandiae, encircles the design within a beaded border. The reverse composition reflects the dynastic claims of the joint sovereigns over the Spanish Netherlands territories. |
