Descrizione del dritto	Bare-headed effigy of Prince Carol I facing right, with short hair, moustache, and trimmed beard, rendered in high relief with finely detailed portraiture in the manner of Leonard Charles Wyon. The circular legend reads CAROL I° DOMNU AL ROMÂNILOR around the upper periphery, with the engraver's signature WYON incused at the truncation of the neck. The field is smooth and unadorned, and the rim is defined by a fine beaded border.

Small five-pointed stars flank the wreath on either side at mid-height. The legend ROMANIA arcs along the upper periphery, and the date 1869 is inscribed along the lower field beneath the wreath. The design is framed by a beaded border.
