| Obverse description | At center, a boldly rendered Chinthe — the mythical Burmese guardian lion-dragon — is depicted in left-facing profile, seated in a rampant pose with its scaled tail curling beneath its body and its mane finely detailed. Two five-pointed stars flank the creature at mid-field, one to each side. The circular legend in Burmese script arcs along the upper periphery, reading 'Union of Burma,' while a Burmese Era date inscription curves along the lower rim below the Chinthe. |
