The figure stands on a raised platform or plinth, rendered in the bold, somewhat naive style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Danish hammered coinage. The field is flat and unadorned, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. The circumferential legend, reading CHRISTIANUS · IIII · D : G : DANI[AE], runs clockwise around the periphery between the beaded border and the inner circle. |

| Descrição do reverso | A large, ornate royal crown occupies the centre of the field, depicted with elaborate foliate and fleur-de-lis finials and a jewelled circlet band, rendered in high relief against a flat, unornamented field. The date 1619 is divided by the crown, with '16' to the left and '19' to the right flanking the upper portion of the crown. Below the crown, mint-master initials R·F·P (Regna Firmat Pietas — 'Piety strengthens the realms') are arranged in a triangular pattern. The design is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, and the circumferential legend NORVEGI : VANDALO : GOTORU : Q • REX runs around the periphery, identifying the king as ruler of Norway, the Wends, and the Goths. |
