Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Joseph II facing right, occupying the central field with the legend divided at the apex by the effigy. The circumferential Latin legend commences at approximately the seven o'clock position and reads continuously around the coin. No laurel wreath or other adornment frames the portrait. The design is rendered in a restrained Baroque style characteristic of Habsburg coinage of the 1770s.
