| Opis awersu | Central field displays the quartered arms of the Margraviate of Burgau — a divided shield featuring alternating horizontal bars and a vertical pale — surmounted by an imperial crown with elaborate foliate mantling flanking the shield on either side. The surrounding legend in Latin reads M.THERES.D.G.R.I.H.B.R.A.A.M.BURG., referencing Maria Theresa's full imperial and royal titles, running along the coin's periphery. The design is executed in a restrained Baroque style characteristic of late eighteenth-century Habsburg provincial coinage. The rim is defined by a raised border with milled edge detailing. |

Burgau was a small Habsburg possession in Swabia, administratively subordinate to Further Austria and largely governed from Freiburg im Breisgau. Maria Theresia's monetary reforms of the early 1760s pushed standardization across her scattered western territories, and Burgau's copper kreutzer issues were a direct product of that rationalization — small change produced to bring peripheral markets in line with the broader Habsburg copper coinage system. The series spans nearly a decade, and Her#1600-1604 documents at least five distinct die varieties across those years.
