The surrounding legend in Latin reads M.THERES.D.G.R.I.H.B.R.A.A.M.BURG., referencing Maria Theresa's full imperial and royal titles, running along the coin's periphery. The design is executed in a restrained Baroque style characteristic of late eighteenth-century Habsburg provincial coinage. The rim is defined by a raised border with milled edge detailing.
