Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Margraviate of Burgau — a divided shield featuring alternating horizontal bars and a vertical pale — surmounted by an imperial crown with elaborate foliate mantling flanking the shield on either side. The surrounding legend in Latin reads M.THERES.D.G.R.I.H.B.R.A.A.M.BURG., referencing Maria Theresa's full imperial and royal titles, running along the coin's periphery. The design is executed in a restrained Baroque style characteristic of late eighteenth-century Habsburg provincial coinage. The rim is defined by a raised border with milled edge detailing.
