Obverse description Central field displays a royal sceptre or crozier oriented vertically, flanked symmetrically by two fish in upright positions, a dynastic emblem emblematic of the Pandya rulers. The design is rendered in low relief typical of hammered copper coinage of medieval South India. The flan is irregular and the overall striking is characteristic of the period's crude but distinctive mint production.
