The effigy is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a circular Armenian legend reading ՀԵԹՈՒՄ ԹԱԳԱՒՈՐ ՀԱՅՈՑ (Hethoum King of the Armenians) along the outer border. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular roundness of medieval copper issues from Sis. |

A circular Armenian legend surrounds the central motif along the outer border, reading ՇԻՆԵԱԼ Ի ՔԱՂԱՔՆ Ի ՍԻՍ (Struck in the city of Sis), identifying the mint. The overall composition is austere and functional, consistent with the subsidiary bronze denominations of the Cilician Armenian monetary system. |
