| Beschrijving voorzijde | Struck in the bull-and-horseman tradition inherited from the Chahamana coinage, the obverse displays a stylised equestrian figure occupying the right portion of the field, rendered in a schematic, flat-relief style characteristic of early Delhi Sultanate hammered billon jitals. To the left, a reclining humped bull (Nandi) is depicted in profile. The composition fills the irregular flan entirely, with Nagari legends distributed around or between the principal devices. The overall workmanship reflects the transitional numismatic idiom of the early thirteenth century, blending pre-Islamic Rajput iconographic conventions with sultanate monetary practice. |
