Reverse description The reverse similarly bears a multi-line Arabic inscription filling the entire field, identifying the ruler's lineage and his relationship to the Abbasid Caliphate. The legend reads: 'Ibn al-Sultan Yamin al-Khilafa Nasir Amir al-Mu'minin,' proclaiming the sultan as son of the sultan, right hand of the Caliphate, and helper of the Commander of the Faithful. The script is densely arranged across the flan in the typical hammered style of Delhi Sultanate billon coinage, with no surrounding border or subsidiary ornament.
