Reverse description Reverse field bearing a central Arabic legend in Naskh script enclosed within a partial circular border, with a marginal inscription running around the periphery of the flan. The central area appears to contain the ruler's name and titles, while the outer legend carries additional royal epithets or the mint and date formula. The die is boldly struck with high-relief lettering typical of Delhi Sultanate hammered coinage, and the irregular flan edge shows characteristic clipping from manual manufacture.

Additional information

Khusrau Khan's reign lasted roughly four months in 1320 before Ghazi Malik — soon to be Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq — marched on Delhi and had him killed, ending the Khalji dynasty entirely. His coinage is consequently scarce, and the billon jital, the workhorse denomination of Delhi Sultanate circulation, survives from his reign in far smaller numbers than from any of his predecessors.
