Reverse description Within a linear circle bordered by a ring of raised pellets, a three-line Kannada inscription fills the central field, divided by horizontal registers. The legend reads 'Khana / Danaya / Ka ru', identifying the issuing authority as Lakkanna Dandanayaka, the feudatory commander (dandanayaka) under the Vijayanagara Empire. The script is rendered in the medieval Kannada hand characteristic of early fifteenth-century feudatory issues, with individual aksharas clearly separated by the horizontal line divisions.
