Obverse description Hammered copper flan of irregular roundness bearing a three-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script occupying the central field. The inscription reads 'Al-Sultan al-A'zam / Firuz Shah / Sultani', proclaiming the full regal title of Sultan Firuz Shah Tughluq. The lettering is raised in high relief against a flat, unadorned field, with no border or marginal legend. Characteristic of Delhi Sultanate jitals, the die is slightly off-center and the surfaces display the typical granular texture of a hammered copper alloy flan.
