Obverse description Central field features the royal cypher of Frederik III — a crowned interlaced script monogram 'F3' — rendered in bold relief beneath a large royal crown. The monogram is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend reading F3 D.G.DANIÆ.REX arranged around the periphery. The overall design is characteristic of mid-17th-century Danish hammered coinage, with a somewhat irregular flan giving the piece a rustic, handmade appearance.

Reverse description The reverse presents a long ornamental cross dividing the central field into four quarters, each containing a digit of the date 1651 arranged as '1 | 6 / 5 | 1'. The cross terminates in decorative fleur-de-lis-style finials. The royal motto DOMIN9 PROVID. (Dominus Providebit — 'The Lord will provide') runs around the outer margin within a beaded border, consistent with Frederik III's personal device.
