Opmerkingen	Suriname's 1 Gulden "zilvergoed" — silver voucher — notes were issued as fractional paper currency redeemable against silver coinage, a stopgap solution that persisted well into the postwar period as silver shortages made small-denomination coin production impractical. The series was produced by Enschedé in Haarlem, the same firm that had printed Dutch colonial currency across multiple territories for generations, and whose intaglio work set the quality standard for Netherlands-administered issues. Pick 106 is among the later printings before Suriname moved toward a fully independent monetary structure in the 1950s.
