Obverse description Green and dark brown on white paper. At left, a vignette of the bust of Mercury serves as the central figurative element, accompanied by an order number printed in black with two letter prefix. The face incorporates guilloche underprint work with the denomination and issuing authority inscriptions arranged across the note.

Reverse description Dark brown on white paper. The reverse is dominated by an elaborate central guilloche medallion bearing the denomination "EEN GULDEN" in a horizontal band, flanked by intricate lathe-work patterns and a large numeral "1" at left and right. The lower right portion carries a block of anti-counterfeiting warning text in Dutch, with the printer's name at the foot.
