Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King William IV facing right, modeled in high relief with naturalistic portrait features, occupying the central field. The effigy is unadorned and draped at the truncation. The surrounding legend reads GULIELMUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR: REX F:D:, disposed in a continuous arc along the coin's periphery within a fine beaded border. The portrait is engraved in the neoclassical style characteristic of William Wyon.
