| Reverse description | Christ Pantocrator enthroned in full face, nimbate, wearing imperial robes, raising the right hand in benediction and holding the Gospels in the left. The abbreviated Greek Christogram 'IC XC' (Jesus Christ) is inscribed in the fields to the left and right of the figure. The enthroned Christ is depicted within a plain or lightly ornamented throne, following the Byzantine iconographic tradition standard to Venetian grossi of this period. A beaded border encircles the design. |
