Obverse description Within a quadrilobed square frame, a crested tournament helmet surmounted by a dragon crest is displayed above the Visconti heraldic shield. The composition is rendered in Gothic style, with fine detail on the helmet's crest and the biscione (serpent) device on the shield. The entire central design is enclosed within a beaded border, surrounded by a circular Latin legend. The overall design is characteristic of late 14th-century Milanese coinage under the Visconti lordship.
