Beschrijving voorzijde Two standing figures facing the viewer in Byzantine-influenced style: Tsar Mikhail II Asen on the left and Tsaritsa Irina on the right, both crowned and robed in imperial regalia. Between them, a long patriarchal cross or sceptre is held jointly, serving as the central axis of the composition. Both figures wear elaborate garments rendered in stylized drapery typical of 13th-century Bulgarian coinage. Cyrillic legends in the field identify the two rulers, reading ч. МИХАИЛ to the left and ч. ИРИНА to the right. The flan is irregular and the die work is characteristic of medieval hammered coinage.
Schrift voorzijde Cyrillic

Beschrijving keerzijde Enthroned frontal figure of Christ Pantokrator depicted in mandorla or architectural frame, seated on a throne and raising his right hand in benediction while holding the Gospels in his left. The nimbus surrounding the head is decorated with a cruciform pattern, and the overall composition reflects Byzantine iconographic convention. Decorative floral or star-like ornaments are scattered in the field around the central figure. The Greek Christogram IC XC (Jesus Christ) appears in the field to either side of the figure, rendered in Greek majuscules. The execution is bold and typical of the hammered silver coinage of the Second Bulgarian Empire.
