The device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters reads *STEFA*WOIWOD, introduced and punctuated by pattée cross stops, identifying the issuing ruler as Voivode Stephen. The overall style is consistent with mid-fifteenth-century Moldavian hammered silver coinage. |
