| Descrizione del dritto | Central field displays the heraldic eagle of the Teutonic Order, set within a decorative beaded inner circle and surmounted by a long cross dividing the legend. The eagle is depicted with spread wings in the characteristic Gothic style of the early sixteenth century. The surrounding circular Latin legend, broken into four segments by the arms of the cross, reads ALBER-T9 D G-M GNE-RALIS, abbreviating the title of Grand Master Albert of Hohenzollern. |

Albert of Hohenzollern served as the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights to rule Prussia as a monastic state. In 1525, under pressure from Luther — whom he had consulted directly in Wittenberg — Albert dissolved the Order's Prussian branch, converted to Lutheranism, and transformed the territory into the secular Duchy of Prussia under Polish suzerainty. These groschen, struck across the final years of his Grand Mastership, were among the last coins issued under the Order's authority before that transformation permanently ended seven centuries of Teutonic governance in the region.
