| Obverse description | Rampant lion passant to the left occupying the central field, with a crowned head facing right and flowing mane rendered in bold relief. To the left of the lion, a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz — notably a six-spoked wheel — is displayed prominently. A beaded inner circle frames the central design, with a Gothic legend running along the outer periphery. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval German hammered coinage, with vigorous if somewhat irregular die-cutting. |

| Reverse description | A long cross with ornate, trefoil-terminated arms divides the central field into four quadrants, each containing a floral or foliate motif. The entire cross composition is set within a four-lobed quatrefoil of Gothic form, whose cusped outline creates a decorative inner border. A beaded circle separates the central design from the surrounding field, and a Gothic legend in Latin encircles the coin along the outer rim. The design is characteristic of the late medieval Rhenish groschen tradition, with careful attention to the architectural quality of the central quatrefoil frame. |
