背面描述 A floriated long cross divides the reverse into four quarters, with elaborate fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm in the Burgundian Gothic tradition. A small rosette or quatrefoil ornament occupies the center at the crossing point of the arms. The quadrants between the cross arms are plain. A circular legend in uncial Gothic lettering runs along the outer edge, separated by a beaded border, with the date 1484 incorporated into the legend. The overall design reflects the standard Burgundian groat reverse type of the period.

附加信息

Philip the Handsome was just six years old in 1484, nominal lord of the Low Countries following the death of Mary of Burgundy the previous year. The Regency coinage struck in his name during this period reflects the administrative reality: power held by Maximilian of Habsburg as guardian, not by the child whose name appeared on the dies. Holland's mints continued striking under inherited Burgundian monetary conventions while the regency government fought to maintain control against a restive nobility that had forced significant concessions from Maximilian in the aftermath of Mary's death.
