| Obverse description | Central field features an ornate Gothic letter M rendered in high relief, set within a four-lobed quadrilobe with cusped points extending into the field. The quadrilobe is executed in the Flemish Gothic decorative style characteristic of late 15th-century Burgundian coinage. A circular legend in uncial Gothic lettering surrounds the central device, separated from it by a beaded inner border. The overall composition is typical of the regency coinage issued in the name of Mary of Burgundy for the County of Holland. |

| Reverse description | A floriated long cross divides the reverse into four quarters, with elaborate fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm in the Burgundian Gothic tradition. A small rosette or quatrefoil ornament occupies the center at the crossing point of the arms. The quadrants between the cross arms are plain. A circular legend in uncial Gothic lettering runs along the outer edge, separated by a beaded border, with the date 1484 incorporated into the legend. The overall design reflects the standard Burgundian groat reverse type of the period. |
