| Description du revers | A bold long cross pattee extends to the coin's beaded border, dividing the reverse field into four quarters, each charged with a group of three pellets arranged in a trefoil formation. A beaded inner circle frames the central field, within which the cross arms terminate in pattee form. Saltire stops separate the words of the circumscribed mint legend, which is disposed across the four quadrants created by the cross. The legend declares the royal motto invoking divine protection and identifies the mint city as London, rendered in the characteristic abbreviated uncial lettering of the period. |
