| Beschrijving voorzijde | The field is dominated by the quartered shield of Austria-Burgundy, displaying the arms of Austria (barry of six gules and argent), Burgundy ancient (bendy of six or and azure with a bordure gules), Burgundy modern (France ancient with a bordure compony), and Brabant (or, a lion sable), surmounted by a central escutcheon bearing the lion of Flanders. The composite shield is surrounded by an ornate cusped inner border with decorative quatrefoil elements visible at the upper angles. A crown of elaborate Gothic design surmounts the shield. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend in Gothic lettering arranged between the inner beaded ring and the outer toothed rim. |
